No Audio from Windows Media Player

Zeev Schor

I am using Windows XP SP2 and Windows Media Player v.10 (latest download).
Suddenly, without any apparent reason, there was no sound when a DVD movie (not a copy) was played, whereas there was no problem playing an audio CD. (The video part was perfect). When the same DVD was played with PowerDVD, everything was perfect.
Likewise PowerDVD SE is supposed to perform some sort of a plugin for the Windows Media Player and it does not perform like one.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My System:

Windows XP SP2
Windows Media Player v.10
PowerDVD SE
Creative Live - 24 bit Soundblaster
Plextor DVD-ROM PX-130A

I don't suppose the volume was accidentally turned down...
