No standby

My XP Home SP2 machine has recently stopped going into standby. I can put it
into standby manually but it doesn't happen via the Display Properties
dialogue as it used to. The Event Viewer doesn't show anything untoward. I
have recently acquired a Logitech wireless mouse but have no way of knowing
whether that is the problem - but there's nothing in the Event Viewer about
it. Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem?

One quick way of knowing if its your new mouse is to set stand by to 1 min
and unplug your mouse and wait... if it goes into stand by it must be the
mouse. If it doesn't you can look here maybe this will help
