Computer Won't Go Into Standby

For years I have had my computer go to sleep, i.e. standby without my
assistance or I could hit the Moon Button on my multi-media keyboard and my
computer would shut down into standby. With the movement of the mouse, a
vibration or a hit on the keyboard it would wake up. All of a sudden has
stopped snoozing. The monitor continues to go to sleep but not the computer.
Any thoughts or suggestions, I seem to recall being told some time ago that
a particular line in the registry would reset what ever was wrong.

Docster:

Try this as a work-around.

You go to your desktop, right click and create a new shortcut, then
for the location type in one of the below commands :

Shutdown: %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s
Reboot: %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -r
Logoff: %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -l
Standby: %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState
Hibernate: %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState
Hibernate
