Standby and Shut Down

I'm having two problems with my computer. Windows XP Professional, Version
2002, Service Pack 2.

One is when I to go to hibernate or standby, this is what comes up:
"The device driver for Terminal Server Keyboard is preventing the machine
from entering standby."

So, it won't go into Standby.

The other problem is: The computer will shut down for no apparent reason.

The machine is a pirate so I have no CD's that came with it.

I hope you can help. Thank you very much.

If "shut down" means no power ("It's dead, Jim.") your power supply is
likely failing. You can also check Event Viewer to see if a software
problem registers.

Pirate software here is frowned upon. Before most people "could"
recommend any solution is to get a legit version of XP, first.

I sure didn't know that when I bought the computer it was a pirate. I'm sure
I over paid this guy I bought it from, and now
I find he is crooked. I really don't want to invest in an original because I
don't know
where to buy it. I live in Mexico and shipping would cost more than the CD
itself. I guess I'll live with what I've got.
Thanks for your help anyway.
