No Sound

V

Veronica Kelly

I have a V2Premier PC that is 3 years old. Last May I had a new motherboard
installed at a computer store (ASUS P4SGX-MX). I have Windows XP on my
computer. Two months ago, because of many problems, my daughter reforemated
my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP Prof Upgrade. I had no sound after
the reformatting and installation. I have gone to the V2Premier website and
downloaded drivers, but still no sound. The drivers are on my computer, but
I don't know how to install them. I need help! By the way, I am pretty
computer savy for 64, but this is too advanced for me to do without help. I
hope someone can walk me through this procedure.

Thank you,
Veronica Kelly

Hi Veronica,

The sound drivers you need should be on the motherboard CD that you got when
it was repaired. If you don't have it, you should still be able to download
what you need from www.asus.com. Do not open the file when prompted for
download, but rather save it to a location of choice, then double click it
to run.

you might also try going int to your asus sound controler and adjust the
properties from there. if you don't know where that is the easiest way to get
to them is to unplug your speakers from the tower and restart then plug them
in again it should take you to the asus xgear
