no sound thru headphones

When I plug headphones onto hph jack, no sound comes out but still comes thru (balanced) thru speakers.
any thoughts?

That is because your PC system is playing digital sounds. You can change the settings but will create problems when trying other media. Recommend you plug your headset in the back of the PC where you have the speakers plugged in, you can buy a splitter at Radio Shack. Also, if you have a Dell PC there is a headphone jack under flap on the front of the PC case. To change the settings from digital to analog go to
Open Windows Media Player/tools/Options/Devices tab/Properties button/change to analog, click Apply and OK.
