No attachments in Windows Mail

When my Windows Mail receives emails, it strips all of the attachments from
the email. The outgoing email has the attachments; I checked by having the
same message sent to two separate accounts. One was retrieved using Outlook
Express with no problems - the Windows Mail one stripped the attachment (a
Word document).

Both accounts were retrieved on Vista machines, with SP1 installed. My own
machine was reset to factory settings, no anti-virus of any kind (never had
Norton installed on it ever), no add ons, nothing except a bare Vista/IE7 set
up.

The box to block potentially harmful messages is not ticked. I am
completely lost and about to give up on MS altogether...

Gary,

Thanks, I'll try that and let you know in a few days. I haven't natoced any
winmail.dat files but it's worth a shot.

It's definitley not anti-virus - there was no anti virus installed on that
machine.

Check the message sizes between the two and also the headers. It could be
something server side that is removing the attachments.
