could any one help me in my problem , i will be thankful.
i have windows xp installed on celeron IV 2.0 Mhz, with 256 Mhz Ram, 120 Gb
harddisk, 64 Mb Vga card Geoforce4.
my pc restarts randomly, sometimes 5 mins after starting or sometimes it
doesnt restarts for long time. it just goes off like i have unplugged any
power cable, it could hardly see BSOD couple of times, but it shuts so fast
that i cudnt see whats written there , but that happened may be 2 out 0f 10
times. it makes my crazy.
i dont know what happened to it coz i have checked it soundcard, vga card,
lancard, first i thought it cud be hardware problem, but now it seems some
virus problem , but my antivirus(MCAfee) doesnt detect anything.its not that
mcafee isnt updated.
anybody cud suggest me anything please.
looking for your answer,
c ya

My guess would be a loose fan on the CPU, causing overheating.

no the cpu and every thing is cool. i checked that. sometimes if it gets
shutdown i cant start it without unplugging the power cable and replugging
it. or sometime i push start button it gets started but soon shuts again
withoutshowing anything on screen.
a complex prob........

Disable automatic restart on system failure (on SP2): Press F8 on restart, and see the menu item to disable auto restart. Restart,
and when the STOP message appears, record information needed for further troubleshooting.
OR
Press WinKey-Break,(or start/run 'sysdm.cpl'), click Advanced Tab, Start Up... area, Settings button, Remove check from
"Automatically Restart" On the next reboot, you will be able to read the error that caused the restart.

The error will also be available in the Event Viewer (start/run, type: eventvwr.msc )

I have already done that but in vail.
today in morning when i started the comp , it did shut again , itried many
times, every time i had to unplug n replug the power cable, then i reset the
bios and it did the same again once and then it started normally .
in event viewer there are much DCOM errors ...
u got any hint ?

Maybe because if you knew how to read, you would have read the part that
says, "it just goes off like i have unplugged any power cable..." DUH! NO
STOP ERROR...

"Why don't you [learn how to] f*ckin [read], moron[?]"

Why don't you say what the f*ckin stop error is, moron.

If it just stops working like you have unplugged the power cord, then it
sounds to me like you have an intermittent power supply. My suggestion
would be a new power supply should be a planned purchase in the near
future...

It MIGHT (BIG MAYBE) be a loose power cord at the power supply, but highly
unlikely, as you would have been able to tell that when you unplugged it and
plugged it back in...

He is typical of the scum that post here and refuse to read their f*ckin screens. He is an abusive piece of shit. He was told how to display it.
