Network Printer reverts as default

I have an Epson inkjet printer attached to a laptop running W2K Pro. The
printer is shared on the network. The problem is, that once people print to
that shared network printer, it always becoms the default printer on people's
computer no matter what. I tried to delete the printer from the laptop and
re-share it, but it is no fix.
Do you know how to fix this issue?

Some applicationis set printers to default. What app are they printing
from?

Thank you for the reply.
People are printing from all Microsoft Office 2000 products, like Outlook,
Word, Excel, IE. Where can I set the default printer in those applications?
Why the applications set only this particular InkJet printer as default, and
not others?

You can usually right click it and 'set as default.' but I doubt your users
are doing that....

You are right. My users don't right click on the printer to set it as
default, yet the printer becomes the default. How could I prevent it to
happen?
