Need help with System Restore

Fran

I seem to be unable to complete a System Restore as I have in the past.
After setting a restore point and restarting I get an error message
"Restoration Incomplete"..."your computer cannnot be restored to...." I
have tried this a few times changing dates, but without success.

Is there a fix for this to enable me to successfully use System Restore? I
am grateful for all help to rectify this problem. Thank you in advance.

System Restore is notorious for not working (Windows XP - modern hard disk
drives and their larger sizes than when XP was originally released seem to
be some of the problem, other things - like AntiVirus apps - can also mess
up the system restore stuff.) if not cleaned up - a system backup is more
reliable.

One of the more comprehensive web sites around the Windows XP System Restore
system (including troubleshooting) is found here: http://bertk.mvps.org/

Menu system at the top, "System Restore in WinXP". Under that menu you
should find this:
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/srfail.html

That may help you troubleshoot things.

I suppose this has to do with your other post in the other newsgroup?
