NAV 2004 uninstall problem

David

I had NAV 2004 installed for a trial period on a machine running Windows 98.
I wanted to uninstall it and download another AV program, but when I tried
the uninstall it froze the computer when it was about 60% complete. I had
to reboot, which of course caused all kinds of error messages because some
registry entries hadn't been deleted while the files they referred to had
been.

Unable to solve the problem, I re-installed NAV completely, then tried to
uninstall it again. Once again, it froze at exactly the same point, forcing
me to shut down the computer again. Meantime, I can't get rid of the other
40% of the files and registry entries using the uninstall program, and
everytime I turn on the computer I get missing file error messages.

Anyone know how I might get this program fully uninstalled and off my
machine permanently?

Thanks.

If the other suggestion doesn't work, reinstall NSW (including the necessary
reboots and Registry cleaning) and then with nothing in your Windows\temp
files, Recycled Bin, or Temporary Internet Files and having NO other
programs running except Explorer and Systray, try the Uninstall again using
Add/Remove.

Had the same problem uninstalling NIS 2004 and found in the end the
only way for me was to download jv16 Power Tools from
www.macecraft.com it comes with a thirty day free trial and with its
Registry utility search for everything Norton or Symantec and remove
it. If there are other Norton products on the PC then having obtained
the Norton/Symantec list search within that for NAV and remove that.
Delete all the other files.
