Mystery program

A short time ago during startup I began to get a small box with "OK" in it
open during the installing of my resident programs like my anti-virus, and
weather bug programs. It does nothing but go away when you click it. In
the top of the window with the - box X it displays the name one of my
resident programs , a dictionary program. I have deleted the dictionary
program and reinstalled it to see if the box would go away, but no. I
thought I had been to an area where all of the programs that install on boot
were listed, where I might find what was generating the box, but I can't
remember where it was. How can I trouble shoot and get rid of this
irritating little box.

Hi Ken

From Start>Run type

msconfig

then click on the startup tab. See if there is any reference there. If so,
uncheck the entry and then reboot your system.

Before you click it, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the Task Manager
and see what the application is.
