Inexplicable error message at end of boot process

Hello to all,

My PC recently began emitting a message box at the very end of the
boot process -- that is, just before the last program in my start up
group loads: "The format of the file 'LEAD' is invalid." Pressing OK
dismisses the message, but I'm getting steamed at the sight of this
junk on my screen.

Programs that emit error messages without identifying themselves are a
royal pain. Does anyone have an idea of where this thing originates
and what I can do to make it go away?

Thanks to those who answer.

Please find the Error Report in Event Viewer and post a complete copy.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
