Hey guys, I am having a problem with some known spyware on my computer. I
know where the file is and what its called but I can't delete it because its
in use, ctrl+alt+del and I find it in the Process list, but the problem is
when I click End Process I get the message saying 'Are you sure you wish to
terminate this program etc.....' and I click yes but the program stays in the
Process list, I cannot get it to stop therefore I cannot delete it, I've had
this problem loads of times before, anyone know how to end this process so I
can delete this damn spyware? Thanks!

It will be handy or helpful if you mentioned the Runing Processor, since it
didn't stop or been killed it could be a Legitimate Processor but Spyware can
take any name of files and Folders, processors so we can't be sure.
Try this:
Open the Run command and type in:
regedit.exe click [OK] and locate these keys:
[-] HKEY_CURRENT_USR\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run =
Look in the Right pane/windows for this Processor and Remove it or Rename it.
The same with RunOnce =

[-] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run =
Look in the Right Pane/Window for the processor and remove it.
Same with RunOnce = .

On the Windows Explorer locate these Paths and see the Entries in them:
C:\Windows
C:\Windows\System32 = if the file/folder with (Spy.exe) for example exist
SHIFT + Delete and run a thorough scan from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Also download this tool if you can't delete the files/folders for this
spyware:
http://www.purgeie.com/delinv/index.htm

HTH.
Let us know,
Regards,

The first thing you should do is boot the computer into Safe
Mode and see if you can delete the file. If that doesn't work
you might want to try these programs.

MoveOnBoot

Unlocker
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/Unlocker.html

Locked Files Wizard

Good luck

Getting rid of spyware is seldom as easy as just doing that. You often need
to run special spyware-cleaning software to accomplish this.

I recommend that you go to Malke's Malware Removal site at
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware and follow
the instructions there.

Or tell us what the name of your specific spyware problem is, for more
specific help
