"My Pictures" File

When I want to copy some of my pictures to another file,
I hold down CTRL, then click on each of the pictures.
Somehow, during this process, my computer proceeds to
make more copies of these pictures, in the original file!
I now have about 150 pictures but the original file had
only abouy 15. What's wrong?

Try not dragging your mouse when you click. If you click
and drag, it will copy the files. If you want to lower
the drag sensitivity, get tweakui.

You are probably shaking the mouse a little as you click, and this is
being taken as a drag. The standard setting is really too sensitive.
Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

On its Mouse page, adjust the value in Mouse sensitivity - drag, to
maybe 25 or even more (25 pixels is 2/3 the size of an icon, and you
would drag more than that if you meant it), and click Apply
