My Documents on another compter

Hi,

I had a hard drive fail on me so have installed a new hard drive on my
laptop. I am now trying to extract some files off my old hard drive. I'm
having to use my daughters pc as I can't install a second drive in my
laptop.

I can read the faulty drive (as my D drive) on the pc but when I try to
access my documents folder (called Davids Documents) it reports an access
error.

I've tried setting up a user account as David on the pc but still no luck.

Any ideas please????
