Multiple Accounts and all emails from Primary show up for both Acc

My provider (Comcast) provides the capability to have a Primary account and
several secondary accounts. I have both (a Primary and 1 Secondary) accounts
created and activated in Windows Mail. Until a few days ago, they worked fine
but as of this past Saturday (10/13/07) all emails using my primary (default)
email id show up twice in my Inbox - one email using the name of each
account. Based on web access to Comcast email, the emails in question are on
the server only for the correct account. I have another PC running Outlook
under XP with the accounts set up the same as in Windows Mail and that email
system works as expected.--
Thanks

This Windows Mail was created on a new computer and not upgraded to from any
other email; the secondary account in Comcast was created several days after
Windows Mail was created. The two-account Windows Mail seemed to work
properly for a week or two before the double entries began.

I have the same problem. I am also an experienced web designer and used my
graphic signatures for years. The open fine in Internet Explorer, but not
in Windows Mail. I have tried all the fixes, it is just clearly a glitch,
hopefully to be corrected in SP1.

There is a good chance that McAfee is the cause of your email trouble.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

I may have figured out my problem; it appears that I had the password for the
two Comcast accounts both pointing to the primary account in Windows Mail.
Therefore, both the primary and secondary accounts were pointing at the
default account on the Windows Mail laptop. I have the passwords and email
addresses set the way they should have been and things appear to be normal.
Thanks to those who provided suggestions.

Glad you got it squared away. Sometimes the solution is so simple
that we tend to overlook it.
