I set up windows mail from a comcast.net email account. Now my comcast
account doen't have any of the unread mail in the inbox, it says empty. Its
all in windows mail. I cannot get my emails from anywhere but home. Windows
mail srews up so much of my mail. Its a shame to get rid of Identities. HOw
do i get all my mail back to my comcast account before i delete the windows
mail accout without losing anymore of them?

By default, most POP3 email programs (including Windows Mail) deletes
messages on the server after downloading. That's how POP3 email was
designed to be used.
You can configure WM to leave the messages on the server after downloading..
Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced
[x] Leave a copy of messages on server
[x] Remove from server after [xx] days

There's no easy way to get the messages back on the server, other than
forwarding them to yourself.

Thank you, Dave. This was ever so helpful. Needless to say WM has way
overextended itself from making it user friendly to making itself just
useless. I'll use it again when the upgrades get downgraded.
thanx again, Andrew

I don't quite understand the purpose of your reply other than you have stock
in Microsoft. Since my problem was previously resolved, here is my response.
Winows Mail is far from user friendly. The fact that WM no longer can switch
accounts but blends them all together. What if a family wanted to use this?
No more personal email. Also I ended up in a discussion webpage with 232
pages of problems people have. My small problem was not found anywhere in the
help topics in WM. Before my issue was fixed, you could not get emails from
anywhere else. No office, cellphone, not even your neighbors house. Reading
on about other posts, and my own personal experience, I stand by my opinion
and will not be using WM any futher. My original AIM account is simple and
easy by comparison.

You have to realize it is not WM. All email clients would have
to have the correct setup information and work the same way.
That is, they bring the email from the website to your computer.
If you want to leave a copy at the server, you have to set it
that way. WM is as user friendly as it gets. Very similar to
Outlook Express, if you have ever used that.
