Hi all,

My Computer keeps re-booting, so I started it after unchecking rhe "re-boot"
option, if an error is found and
I wrote the error down from the Blue screen, which said "Your Computer was
halted from booting, and shut down to prevent damage, ect, ect. Error in
HCWBF8XX.SYS at memory address:F80611DD BASE AT F80SC000 DATESTAMP
3C7F133L. I wonder if it could be caused by an older PCI VIDEO Camera
Capture card
NOT Supported by XP?
I was wondering if I disabled it in device manager, starting in safe mode,
or do I have to remove the card, or doesn't it matter
if the card is in?or is something else wrong, that's generating the error?
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Robert,

The errant file seems to indicate a problem with the driver for a PCI video
capture card, so disabling it to see if this removes the error is probably
the right move. Simply setting Device Manager to "disable in this hardware
profile" should be sufficient to tell you if you are correct (I suspect you
are).
