Computer keeps re booting

Hi guys,
advice please, computer keeps re-booting all the time, never gets past the
loading windows xp stage then constantly repeats this sequence. Is this a
virus, if so is there anything I can do to repair it

Or driver updates the OP neglected to mention that he/she installed.
Rebooting and using "last known good configuration" might work.

Hi the machine is around 3 years old, it was working in the morning then in
the afternoon when it was switched on it started the rebooting sequence
constantly, no it is a computer shop assembled machine. Coul not get it
into the safe mode just kept rebooting

A few things to try. Strip the machine of all hardware not needed to boot,
drives, extra memory, usb devices, etc. Try pressing F8 to get into the safe
boot screen. If so select the option to halt on system error. This will stop
rebooting and show the blue screen. May be able to get the error code.
Boot the system disk to get in the hardware console. find the DrWatson dump
and analyze.
