i can not get win installer to run properly. evertime i
attemp to load a program it says it is not properly
installed and configured.also when i right clcik on
anything the win installer kicks in and trys to run. i
have looked and looked for something on this but the only
so called fix i could find was to disable the installer
but that doesnt do me any good. thanks for any help on
this matter.

Hi Darren,
Looks like your symptoms are similar to mine -- I've tried
cleaning the registry.. etc..

The problem hits in my case whenever I start to run Norton
Systemworks, which also produced a "software not
completely installed" error. (Knowledge base article
242435).

If nobody comes up with ideas, we'll need to compare the
behaviours on our two machines.

What Op system - professional/server etc, what SP level?
Mine: Dell P4 Win2k Professional SP2 (and SP4 for a time).
I have Norton S/wrks installed, and cannot uninstall it
because of THAT error.
