Mouse has mind of its own

Hello Forum,

I have an agonizing problem with my mouse. I have HP Notebook/windows xp.
What happens is bazzzare, the mouse has a sort of rectangular box like an
attachment to it. It is about 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch, with arrows on the ends.
It drives me crazy. Sometimes it ruins my screen, makes a picture expand in
size beyond a normal size. The scroll bar likes to move up and down when I
don't want it to.

I wonder if its related to hardware problem. I have checked for viruses and
so forth and its clean.

If anyone has advice, let me know so I don't have to shoot my laptop.

Thanks to the forum! Sincerely, Tim

Hi Tim,
I Know what you talking about:
_______________________________________¬
| ___|
| ___|
| ___|
|
___| <- TouchPad scroll Zone
|_______________________________________ |

Try to make your finger away from this area or you can go to the HP utility
and Disable it in Control panel or as I said keep your finger tip in the
middle.
HTH.

Hi Nass,

Thanks for responding so quickly, seems like what your saying is a simple
solution.
I was having a little trouble understanding, it has nothing to do with the
way you wrote it, its my comprehension. Could you explain it for again for my
sake. In my Control Panel I didn't see an HP Utility in less your referring
to the (Mouse) in the Panel.

Thanks again for your help!!
Sincerely, Tim

Hi Tim,
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Printer and Hardware or you may see it
there, look for the Mouse Icon and from there you will see the TouchPad
settings and other have a wonder around and see the setting as I'm away now
from My HP Laptop I can't remember what you want to do get this Disabled.
Or as I mentioned it just added Feature instead of Going up to scroll down
just use this to scroll your pages or train your Finger to stay in the middle
while using the Cursor.
HTH.
