mouse acting up-might have to shoot it

Hello Forum,

I have an HP Notebook (Windows XP), and the mouse or pointer on my touch pad
is acting terrible. I point to something without clicking it and it gives the
item to me anyway-(sometimes). Also a mysterious rectangular type of box
sometimes attaches to the pointer, about 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch, it will take
for example a game on computer and it blows up to a very huge picture, then I
have to bring it back to small image again. Maybe I need to update some new
hardware, I don't know.

I have doubts anyone can help on this matter because I have read alot of
threads and couldn't find a solution, but I know that there are some smart,
savoy people out there.

This can be a symptom of a virus.
Do a virus scan and anti-spyware scan.
