Hi,

I've just aquired a load of memory no longer needed from the server at work, and was wondering if anybody knows of a motherboard it will work with?

It's: 1GB DDR 400 CL3 ECC 184 pinn

I'm having trouble finding a moherboard that likes ECC memory.

Anybody have any ideas?

i think opteron boards like ECC memory but im not sure

Indeed they do....but the price of an Opteron board and CPU(S) will outdo any advantage in having EEC memory

:)
im not called freebie geezer for no reason!

he could be lucky, i think that ECC stuff is worth quite a bit of money to buy new, thats assuming he can find someone to sell it to

I just got some server memory from work a few months ago. Some how we ended up with a small box of memory for a SUN Microsystems server. We do not even have any dealings with SUN. Someone was just going to throw it in the trash. I threw it in the trunk of the car and placed it on Ebay. I managed to get around $300 US for the lot. That now resides as my new Epson R200 printer and my Dell 17" flat panel display. One man' junk is another man's treasure.
