Missing Program File msvcr80.dll

I just received a notice from Norton Systemworks that file mcvcr80.dll is
missing. Is this an XP file that is missing? If not and if possible, how
would I determine the program it belongs too? Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick,
You have two choices, one to send a report to Norton about this issue/ Raise
a ticket to the Help & Support.
Copy the file to where the Systemworks want it either:
C:\Windows\System32 or
to the .NET Framework Directory
Usually the file found here:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...2207?OpenDocument&lg=en&ct=us&seg=hho&src=hot
HTH.

Actually three choices... the third and best being to uninstall Norton.

My opinion of course.

Windows Defender installed by any chance. If so then delete the following

delete the c:\program files\windows defender\MSASCui.exe. manifest
