Checking Windows XP with SP2 patch, etc, and using Norton Systemworks to
check Windows, I have errors that indicates Quicken, WINNT and Adobe Reader
"cannot access a necessary file"
These are the files that cannot be accessed,
MSVCR80.DLL
MSVCP80.DLL
MFC80.DLL

Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.

Read this Thread it may be of interest to you:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...6b4-dc2d504ce9ef&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=en-us&p=1
Or:
%Windir%\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd
it should contain these three files: msvcr80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcm80.dll
You can Copy them from that Path to the following for
C:\Program Files\Application or where it needed by whichever application
asking for them.
Or you can copy them from another machine to the problematic machine ( the
other machine should have the same Operating system).
Also check fo Bad RAM by testing your Memory from here:

Are there problems running any of these apps? If not I would recommend not
bothering with Norton System Works.
