.NET Framework 2.0 and MSVCR80.DLL

I just successfully installed .NET Framework 2.0 on my WinXP Pro SP2 laptop.
All is well with one exception. Norton Utilities 2005 WinDoctor (Registry
error checker) shows "MSVCR80.DLL" as a "missing program file" for 10
different .EXE files in my "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\"
folder. A thorough search of my hard drive (one partition only, c:\) with
ZTreeWin shows one copy of MSVCR80.DLL, in a folder called
"C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd\".

Is everything all right? Is WinDoctor giving me a false alarm? Or is my
installation incomplete/flawed? If flawed, how do I fix? Does MSVCR80.DLL
have to be in a different folder?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

I've got the same situation and I've read that a few others have it too.
Did you find anything out or resolve your problem?

Just copy the file from where you found it to your %windir%\system32 and
%windir%\system32\dllcache folders - there's no need to download it as
you've already got it. The .NET 2.0 install process for some reason doesn't
copy it to the system32 folder.

Aye, Aye, Admiral! Solved it, ye did! Thanks, sir!

I'd recommend you for a promotion, but I think Star Fleet Admiral is the
highest rank available.

I downloaded & put the msvcr80.dll in the C:\Windows\Command folder because that
is where Norton was looking for it and didn't find it during the last Win Doctor
scan. I was working on a dual boot machine (Win ME on C:, and Win XP Home on D:,
and the .NET Framework 2.0 was installed on the XP side). How do I test to see
if the Framework is working properly?
