Dumb question # 7. Noticed during an update today that I am getting an
update for ...framework 2 and 3. Looked under add/remove and noticed that I
have 1, 2 & 3 installed. Why would you need all 3? or do I.

..Net framework versions are designed to coexist. Since some programs are
written to require a specific version (it is usually a programer mistake to
do this but it happens) you should leave them alone.

Add version 1.1 too..........

You might not need any of them. Or you might
need all. It depends on what software you have.
There's not much software written in .Net, but
you could have some on your PC. It's like the Java
Virtual Machine - You don't *need* it for Windows,
but you do if you have Java software.

Maybe a better question is why do you care what
Microsoft is dumping onto your PC if you've already
decided to give them permission to dump?
