I am still getting the "microsoft" emails, like 20 or
more a day and not all of them have attachments. I have
firewall enabled and have norton which is catching them
all, but this is very frustrating. I have the message
rules applied that was given in this forum a couple weeks
ago. What can be done to stop all these emails.

The only guaranteed way is to stop using the email address to which
these "bad guys" are directing their spam mail.

Could you please forward any of microsoft's mail to me
(without attachment) i will tell you how you can stop them
from coming. and what are u using? Outlook express???

Andre

For some reason they stopped today Monday.
Three things come to mind:
-- They are taking a break...don't think so...never do.
-- They learned something constructive/creative....hope.
-- I figured out way to stop them...maybe...will get back.

set your email junk filter on exclusive.. all your email
will go there at first, but it's ok... then send the
mails you like to your inbox.. you'll be prompted to add
these mails to your safe list.. remaining emails can be
quickly scanned and deleted with one click.. and you
won't get that horrifying incoming notice as unwanted
stuff goes into your junk folder... Otherwise, stay
cool.. the bombardment WILL slow and stop.

Yes I use Outlook Express ,but to tell you the truth, I
don't like the thought of even looking at these emails,
much less forwarding them. As many as I am getting, I
guess I am paranoid now.

not much, unless you turn the computer off. You can call
your ISP and demand they scan your email and not send you
viruses, but do you really want to do that.

I merely set Outlook to delete any e-mail with attachments.

BTW, Firewalls and Anti-virus programs don't stop you from getting e-
mail. Most Anti-virus programs merely warn you that an attachment is
infected.

Change your e-mail address and in the future do not use it in your
posts to newsgroups or anywhere else public.
