microsoft back up utility

I have accessed microsoft knowledge article-302700 re:
installing the backup feature. I was able to do so, and
it is on my accessories/system tools. Unfortunately, when
I try to actually perform the backup to a floppy, I
receive the error message-The files for recovery diskette
could not be created. The operation was cancelled. Which
is exactly the error message that the article was trying
to rectify. What happened? Is there some other way to do
a complete system backup?

Are you running XP Home Edition? If so, ASR doesn't work in XP HE. ASR is only available in XP Pro.
