Microphone Configuration

Does anyone know why windows wont detect my built-in
microphone? The microphone is installed into the monitor.
Maybe my 'volume control' configuration is wrong. Can
anyone offer any solutions? Thanks.
 
Did you plug a microphone cable from the monitor to the sound card mic
connector?

Mic connections from monitors are NOT carried over the video cable.
