Messenger and Hotmail

Prior to installing SP2 in XP Pro when I opened Instant Messenger my
hotmail account also opened and I was able to see any new emails I had
gotten.
After SP2 only messenger opens and I have to use the URL separately to open
Hotmail. Is there a way to get both to open again at the same time.

Create a short cut to IE and add this to Sart\All Programs\Startup ( you can
click and drag to the start menu)

Set the start-up page in IE to the Hotmail url for the log-in page.

Internet Options\
in the adress box type
http://login.passport.net/uilogin.srf?id=2

Open the above page and enter your email account details and your password
and check the box to "sign me in automatically.

A short cut is not essential, but can be convenient if you later want to
remove the item from your start-up options. It is also better to do this if
your pC is used by more than one person.
There is probably a more elegant method but this should work.
