I have a system that had win xp on it, the system starting hanging up quite
a bit (freezing and stuff) well finally I found I had a an error that
required I just reinstall my operating system. well I tried and tried to
reinstall and got errors that were telling me that my bios needed updateing
when I looked further it couldnt be the "ACPI" problem because the bios I
had covered that
I have replaced the hard drive, used other operating system disks and
finally have replaced the memory and all my problems went away
I reinstalled the operating system and everything is fine

What happened to my memory?
how could it have caused this

I think I may have caught a virus can a virus ruin my memory or can it be
fixed
please advise as this was a significant cost to replace and it seemed to be
good memory
(it went through the count just fine during booting)

Check around to see if any of your local computer stores has a memory
testing capability.
