Media Player HELP!!

I got latest version, tried to download 3 X's, when I
click on shortcut I get the install/set up thingy unless
I go to "set program access & defaults", when I make WMP
the default player it works, my trouble is I have to do
this many times and it dont seem to save the settings.
 
Check the properties, etc on your existing shortcut or find WMP on the ALL
PROGRAMS and create a new shortcut.
 
i would uninstall it in control panel and redownload it
with nothing else running. just let it install click ok
to all. then you can make shortcuts
