Windows Media Player

A quick question for anyone who can help:

I have WMP 9 set as my default player, but it doesn't
play my files. I have eeven tried uninstalling all my
other media players, but it still doesn't work. When I
double-click on a music file, WMP loads to play it
automatically as a default player should. Even the time
bar along the bottom moves to correspond to the time
remaining. But there is still no sound.

Thanks

Does it play the video portion?
Does "mplayer2.exe" (WMP6, already on your system) produce sound?

See http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
