How can I stop a windows Media player pop up on my PC

While Im using my lap to Dell windows 10 IE 8 system I get a windows media player pop up in the left hand corner upper screen and I can not get rid of it , other than X it out manually . what setting will stop this pop up ..

There is no option to disable the pop ups in Windows 10.

I don't use Win10 but....??

1. Step 1: Click inside the search box and type notifications.
2. Step 2: Click Notifications & actions settings.
3. Step 3: Scroll down a bit to the Notifications section, then disable (i.e., toggle off) the setting for Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.

How to remove ads built-in Windows 10

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on Personalization.
3. Click on Lock screen.
4. In the Background drop-down menu, select Picture or Slideshow.
5. Turn off the Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen toggle switch.

Have you looked in Windows Media Player > Tools > Options > Player > Customise Updates and Player Settings.

Which of the eight boxes are ticked? On mine only the 3rd and 7th boxes are ticked.
