Loose printer

I have 8 computers with XP pro. Sometimes when a
computer reboots it tries to detect the printer again.
The old pringer is listed but is "greyed out" and can't
be deleted. Any ideas?
 
Check the BIOS is set to EPP for the LPT settings.

What make and model of printer are we talking about here?
