unfortunately I had to reboot my computer in safe mode.
now it keeps asking me for my logon and password. tried
typing my old one and it won't let me in. called
microsoft. no help. am desperate.

I believe I am having a similar issue to yours. I am
upgrading from win nt to XP pro on several computers.
Each one that I do has all of the accounts locked out.
The only work around I have found is to reset the admin
account using a win nt admin reset disk. Probably not the
best or only way, but It is the only answer I have found.
I've called Microsoft also, and they will not support this
issue without $. Here is the link to the admin tool. Use
at your own risk.
