Did a little system clean up - deleting unused programs and a few directories - did nothing in the windows folder.
Now the system won't let me log in. When I click on username and enter password, the system accepts the input, but goes nowhere. One curious sysmptom - the login screen will not accept a left-click on the username, but will accept a right-click. Then I enter the password and click on the "go" button - it accepts a left-click, but not a right-click.
So. Boot up from the resore CD. I get two options, restore & boot to command prompt. The restore apprently will wipe out my data. The command prompt does not see my C: drive - invalid drive specification.
Boot up from an ntfs boot floppy. No problem.
I can see the C: drive and the whole directory structure.
Any ideas?
