Locking order of pics in a folder

I have about 92 photos in a folder I am working on a presentation. I was
looking at them and decided to change the view to filmstrip.
Unfortunatly it realigned them, and now I have to go back through them and
re-arrange them. I have the auto shut off

You can't. They are alphabetical or in order added (depending on file system). Any ordering you do is ephemeral.

Rename them to reflect the order that you want.
