Yeeeha
I'm running Xp home edition with SP2 with the latest drivers for my Sound
Blaster 16 PCI card.
When playing any audio files (more noticeable when playing mp3 or pm4) the
left channel audio drop out.
I 've diagnosed the problem and it appears to be software related as it does
the same thing regard whether I use Windows Media Player version 9 or 10, or
WINAMP 5.0.
I've changed audio cables and reversed the speakers and the left speaker is
not the problem.
To get the channel going again, I have to increase the volume to MAXIMUM and
slide the BALANCE CONTROL back and forth several times and then it comes
back and I have to adjust the audio level to a more comfortable level.
Does anyone else have this problem using the same sound card?
My Motherboard is an ASUS P5A, bios level 1007a running an AMD k6-3/400Mhz
cpu.
This is very frustrating, needless to say.
I have another sound car, a SB AWE 64 that I am considering but am not sure
at this point if this MB has the right buss for it but I will check and see
and if so, will put another cousnd card in it, when my new hard drivee
arrives and when I also install another CD Burner. My system is snuggled
between the sofa and a file cabine and to be dragging it out, unplugging all
the cable and then having to plug them are a hassle for me because of
disabilities, so I must try and accomplish sa many task inside the case as
possible.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jim
