Large Icons in folder don't snap to or sort

A user showed me an open folder on her computer that showed the large icons
(representing documents) which where not sorted and not lined up.

She wants the documents to continue to appear as large icons w/in a folder,
but she also wants them to automatically sort by name and snap to (correct
term?) a grid.

How can she do that? (And how did she get it the way it is in the first
place?)

Two step operation to set Folder View/Alignment:
1.) Right Click empty area of Folder, from context menu
put mouse pointer over View, Left Click preferred
style in the expansion menu
2.) Right Click empty area of Folder, from context menu
put mouse pointer over "Arrange Icons by" _____
(Normally Name) then repeat for Auto Arrange and
Align to Grid (if desired).
