Just upgraded NAV from 2003 to 2004

I have a Dell 2400 desktop with XP Home SP1. It came preinstalled
with NAV 2003. This morning, I upgraded it to version 2004. So far, things
seem to be working well. Unlike many people, I haven't noticed a slowdown
in my computer at all. However, I did noticed one small, peculiar glitch
that I'd like to get some feedback on.

I have NAV set to scan outgoing and incoming mail. With the 2003
version, a small window from Symantec would pop up from the systray, with a
progress bar indicating how much time it would take for NAV to finish
scanning the message. When the scanning was done, the window would go away.
Since upgrading to version 2004, that window no longer appears. I checked,
and it is enabled in the settings. Is there a way to get it back?

The progress window for scanning outgoing messages does appear for me, but
bizarrely it appears *behind* the OE window - so I generally don't see it
unless I minimize OE or move the OE window immediately after hitting the
Send button. I assume it's a bug in NAV 2004.

Actually, I have discovered a problem. I have a Visioneer 5800 USB
flatbed scanner. Previously after a reboot, the scanner lamp would turn on,
then shut off after 5 minutes. Now, the lamp stays on all the time.

NAV 2004 does the same thing on my computer.
