Having troubles writing Japanese anywhere on XP, reading ok. While
writing in hiragana or even changing to Kanji, the program being
written in crashes such as MSN MSGR,IE or even renaming files in
japanese. I have the US version of XPpro.
What is strange I have installed the language support again from the
Office Xp cd but still the East Asian Langauges checkbox are
disabled/greyed out.
Require help please to write in langauges.
Checked from this group but no help:

Settings:
* A clean install of XP (HDD crashed) with Office XP full install.
* Been to WinUpdate and Office Update and installed everything (except
SP2 won;t install).
* Installed japanese localised version of MSN MSGR 6.2, still crashes
when writing Japanese.
* Regional options under control panel are all Japanese selected except
"Location".
"Supplemental Language Support": only East Asian Lanuages are ticked
but it is GREYED out! Why? (Right-left not installed).
"Text Services and input Languages": "Default language input" is
Japanese Standard 2002 8.1.
"Installed services": Chinese (PRC), English AU, English US, Japanese
with Standard (default) and natural keyboards.
"Langauge bar setting": The first 3 of 5 are ticked.
