Invalid Instruction

J

john

Everytime I try to edit the formula line at the top of the
work sheet, Excel puts up the message 'This program has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut down'.
When you look at the details you get 'EXCEL executed an
invalid instruction in module EXCEL.EXE at 017f:302cc807.
module EXCEL.EXE at 017f:302cc807.' followed by the
register values.

I have tried removing and reinstalling, but get the same
problem.

HELP!

John,

Try...

*.xlb file. If you have used Excel, you have a *.xlb file. You need to
search again to find it and delete it. Try searching from your C drive on
down.

Also, try the following:

Start | Run. You do need to use the quotes and the path might need to be
modified to suit your PC.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /unregserver

then do the same thing, but type

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /regserver

Also, try cleaning out the Temp folder.

Let us know how you make out.

Best regards,
Kevin
