internet explorer hangs then crashes

crashes every 5 or 6 minutes, ive tried uninstalling and
reinstalling, upgrading, etc, but it still continues to
crash, any ideas?

Perhaps you have a virus like MSBlaster? What does a scan with a current
antivirus program (meaning a version not later than 2002 and using
updated virus definitions) show?
