hi my pc is crashing and i tried to do the following checks as per the
advisor GP :
WITH REFERENCE TO his post : 5/18/2009 12:15 AM PST in "pc crashes" issue,

1) Did you install/update any drivers, antivirus updates etc on the ystsm
recently. - yes
2) Do a system restore to a date before which you first noticed the OS crash
- it was done around 6 times, but the last 4 times it failed, the pc is still
crashing.
3) When the OS crashes, it gives youa bugcheck code. This is helpful in
tracking the root cause. OPen eventvwr from start run and check for any
system events indicating crashes. These events will also contain the bugcheck
codes for the OS crashes that have happened on the box. Send us the details
of these crashes. - but in the event viewer it does not show any bugcheck
codes for any crashes, it only gives the normal events.
4) When the OS crashes it creates memory.dmp file in the windows folder,
this file can use used to investigate the root cause of the hang. -
memory.dmp file is empty, while the computer crashes every hour or so.

Look in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Select the checkbox "Show Updates" at the top of the window.
If the update is listed, click on it once and click the Change/Remove
button.
If the update is not listed, Uninstall/Reinstall Nero 7.

If you choose not to uninstall/reinstall and as it appears that an update
from Ahead for Nero 7 is the cause of the issue, contact Ahead support for a
resolution.

yes i have contacted nero, and they have sent me information collecting tool
which has collected the required information from my system and i have mailed
the tool back to them, let's hope for the best. By the way I could not find
any updates under the add or remove utility for nero 7 though I had run the
update, which caused the upheaval.

hi brian !

what do u mean by - "An update listed for Nero in Add/Remove Programs was a
shot in the dark,
mainly MS updates are all that's listed.
have u hacked the mail sent to nero ?

Brian A.

To clarify:
My suggestion for you to select the checkbox "Show Updates" in Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs to see if the update was listed was a "shot in the
dark". I didn't expect it to be listed yet you never know, strange things
do happen. From what I've seen when the "Show Updates" is selected are MS
updates that are listed and not other non-MS software updates.

It has no relation to hacking mail of any kind, in any way, shape or form.

sorry for the hurting language, but i was doubtful, but i want to give u the
latest update, i found 2 viruses on my computer, but they came through
thorough scan, when luckily my computer ran for more than 4 hours, but again
the computer crashed, the nero people told me to remove nero, using their
clean tool, but even that tool came out to be a hoax. Now I am hoping for
another solution. Kasperasky is also giving faulty downloads.
