installshield hangs at 0% for 5-10 minutes

when i try to install something (i think only when using
the microsoft brand install shield but im not sure) it
starts to install, the install screen comes up with the
percentage, and it just sits there at 0% for literally
about 5 to 10 minutes before beginning to install. all
programs using a proprietary installshield run fine, but
if they use the microsoft one it always does this. anyone
know how to fix this problem?

Do you have Outlook running? That is a known problem - plus, I personally
hate InstallShield - I use Wise and have NEVER had a problem installing a
program packaged with Wise, whereas I have had many problems with programs
packaged with InstallShield!
