installshield hangs for 30 min then resume

Hello everyone,

When I try installing or uninstalling any software that
uses installshield, the wizard hangs for 30 minutes or
more then resume and accomplishes its tasks. All the
antivirus and firewall programs are turned off during the
installation process. Does any1 have any idea on what
might cause the problem ? also the paging files are fine.

i think ur problem is temperature or MEM .
if u used AMD plaform and u check CPU temp;
temp; is normal and then u check mem.
pls, u read manual for ur install program (include readme
file)
before this problem u run other application hand?
IF before this problem u pc hand and u check ur hardware
and u check other s-ware.

I do not think the problem comes from hardware,
everything is running fine. I have a p4 2.4 running on an
asus mobo. I did launch the monitoring software and it
reported that everything was running fine. Also I gain
access to folder properties (by right clicking and
selsecting properties)

You should never - ever turn off the firewall, even during a program
install. It takes only a couple of seconds to have your computer become
infected with a plethora of nasties!
