Yet another Installshield Error

So im running Windows xp 64 Sp 1 on my computer, and have problems installing
specific software, in particular certain games. Just as installshield runs
the setup i get the critical error (-5006 : 0x8000ffff), and the installation
crashes. The details are primarily concerned with (not to flood the post)
Kernel\ServiceProvider.cpp (109)
Kernel\ServiceProvider.cpp (87)
Kernel\ObjectHolder.cpp (442)

Anyways, this is a recurring problem on certain games such as black and
white 2 and civilization 4 (among others). Other games run flawlessly. I am
aware it might not be a microsoft error but any pointers are appreciated. I
might add i have checked the forums of the software providers, and followed
their tips (cleaning the temp folder, removing certain/all installshield
files) without any success. I have also reported it to installshield support
without answer.

Thanks in advance.
